“art from berlin” - collective presentation at KIAF 2008 (September 19th – 23rd 2008)
The collective presentation of Berlin based galleries – art from berlin – will take place for the third time at Korea International Art Fair (KIAF) from September 19th – 23rd 2008.
„Berlin has unique artistic potential. The city is, thanks to its vibrant artistic community and gallery scene, one of the most creative metropoli in the world. From classic modernism into the 21st century (...)“ (Ingrid Walther, Head of Division Creative Industries, Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Technology and Women’s Issues, 2008).
This makes the State of Berlin in Cooperation with the European Union to arrange the „art from berlin“ presentation of Berlin based galleries as ambassadors for Berlin’s art scene.
Organized by the Galleries Association of Berlin (LVBG) art from berlin will showcase contemporary and modern art by the galleries

Selected by an independent panel of art critics, curators and gallerists from Berlin the show will present current works from the artists
Christopher Lehmpfuhl | Jay Mark Johnson | Brigitte Waldach | Carmen Calvo | Reinhard Stangl | Trak Wendisch and Günther Grass | as well as Thomas Kemper among others.
With a special information booth the Galleries Association of Berlin (LVBG) will inform Korean art lovers and collectors on the current developments of Berlin galleries, museums and art fairs of the German capital. In addition the German-Korean photographer Felix Park will show his portrait series on Berlin gallerists.
A catalogue brochure “art from berlin” will be published.
